Greek Ladder’s Nevada Networking Night
A Great Time at the Nevada Networking Night
Devin Sizemore was a guest speaker at the All-Greek Networking Night, hosted by Pete Parker at the University of Nevada. Through the night, Devin was able to share his knowledge about networking and he learned a few things from the other guest speakers. Devin, along with other local business leaders, were able to interact with the students for a hands on experience of what it’s like to Network.
Online and Offline Networking
In his presentation Devin shared some great information about his networking strategies. He talked about offline networking and why it’s important to get yourself out there in the business world and attend social events. Having a network is very important and it’s great way to get yourself more business. Having a strong network will not only give yourself more business, but it will also help make you or your business more credible.
Devin also touched on the importance of online networking through social media such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. In today’s business world it’s vital to establish your online presence since everyone uses the internet to look for services and information about your company. If people see your company on multiple outlets online it makes your company look more credible and active making it an easy choice for when someone makes a decision whether or not to choose your company’s services.
Does a Degree Make a Difference?
Another topic that was discussed was whether or not a college degree is needed for this kind of industry. Getting your degree is always a great accomplishment and something someone should strive for. A degree will give you a lot of knowledge about the industry and with some training you would be able to fit in wherever you decide to take your career. It’s also a smart idea to get hands on experience through internships. You could also come to one of MarkUBiz’ events to learn more about the marketing and networking world!
Overall the entire night was a huge success. The Students who attended walked away with a enlightening experience and new knowledge that they will be able to implement into their careers when they become business leaders in our community!
